Monthly Meetings

The Mississippi Forge Council meets on the second Saturday of each month EXCEPT June at the Agricultural and Forestry Museum on Lakeland Dr (Hwy 25) in Jackson. The meetings start at 9:00 am when we have a very short business meeting then a demonstration on selected techniques.

After the demo members can get into the forges with the demonstrator and practice what they saw. At that time we also have a beginners class (green coal class) that starts with absolute basics and end with advanced techniques (forge welding). The green coal can last about 3 hours and is free. You don’t have to be a member of the MFC to participate.

Membership is just $25 per year and includes our quarterly publication, The UPSET.

Whatever your interest or skill level is we can accommodate your interest in pursuing metalsmithing techniques. We have a very talented, not for profit, organization dedicated to learning, demonstrating and teaching .

How do you set up your own page and post pictures on it?

The first step is for an Admin to upgrade your account to an Author. Which I just did. You can request that through the Contact Us form. This gives you the ability to create posts.
Secondly, Create a new Post, if you need help with how to do it, follow the instructions found on our Forum for Creating a new Post. Be sure to select your Category Ricky Wynn. The category is used to determine where a page shows up. More about that here on the Forums. Once you create your first post contact an Admin to have your category linked into the main menu so it shows up.
Thirdly, the best way to post pictures it is to use a Picasa account and create your albums there. Then follow this post on Adding a Picasa gallery to your post
